Under the direct supervision of the Staff Services Manager II, the Support Services Assistant (Interpreter) is responsible for serving as the statewide American Sign Language Interpreter for the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity. The incumbent's primary function is to facilitate communication between the Department's Deaf/Hard of Hearing applicants/employees and hearing persons; accompany staff members to places of business where services are otherwise unavailable; and to do other job-related duties to assist the communication process.
